The Giants will host the Washington Redskins this Sunday as they look to solidify their place in the NFC playoff picture. The Giants are currently in first in the division after a close victory against division rival Dallas last Monday. Currently Dallas and them are both 7-6, but with the tiebreaker going to New York for the victory. The redskins, are meanwhile at the bottom of the division with a 4-9 mark, but have played competitive football lately and will look to play spoiler this week, and the remaining weeks against division rivals. Giants are clear favorites, but these are the types of games that playoff teams need to win.
The Giants come into the game behind their self-proclaimed elite quarterback Eli Manning. So far Eli has met that label and is playing great football. If not for the fantastic record-breaking numbers that Rodgers, Brees, and Brady have put up Eli would be in running for MVP. Eli has done so spreading the ball around from Hakeem Nicks to Victor Cruz and even getting Jake Ballard in the mix. This passing game has come easier with the running of Bradshaw and Jacobs.
Washington comes into the game behind a good runner, as well, in rookie Halu. Halu has taken the league by storm in the second half of the season. For Washington, he has been the one constant and is out-performing everyone’s expectations. As soon as he began to get carries, it was evident that he needed to get the ball more and more. He has a nose for the end zone and you can really see a boost of extra effort when he gets around the goal line. Only thing is, Halu can not do it all by himself.
Prediction: Giants 31 Redskins 20
