The Knicks won 90-87 in impressive fashion on Tuesday as their new star gave them just what they needed to continue a insane winning streak the team has had. The streak has been led by Jeremy Lin who is taking the sporting world by storm. On Tuesday he gave himself even more momentum towards super-stardom and seems to be feeding of all the positive energy and attention. The victory moves the team to 14-15 on the season while improving their away record to 7-8 in the process.
Jeremy Lin led the team in scoring with 27 and added 11 assists to lead the team as well. Some of these dishes were to Amarie Staudemire who returned after missing some games due to the death of his brother. It is certain Amarie was happy to return and find Jeremy Lin playing so well. Lin’s biggest shot came with the game tied 87-87 in the closing seconds. He then shot a step-back three to give the team the victory. The team came back from a 47-36 deficit at the half to get the victory.
The Raptors were led by Jose Calderon who scored 25. Calderon also led the team in assists with 9 while Linas Kleiza also added 11 rebounds to lead all. The Raptors sored out to an early 28-21 lead after the first before outscoring the Knicks 19-15 in the second quarter. In the second half, however, the team struggled and was outscored 54-40. The team moves to just 9-21 on the year. They also dropped their home record to just 4-9. Unfortunately, for them, Linsanity continues even across boarders.
