This is going to be a dream Sunday for me as I get to see my favorite team take on their rivals the Patriots at home to see who will go ahead in the AFC East standings. The Jets flamboyant coach Rex Ryan who knows how to get the media going likened the Jets-Patriots game to a Muhammad Ali versus Joe Frazier boxing match.
The Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie who had some choice words for Tom Brady last season seems to have switched gears and started commenting on the wide receiver Wes Welker. Cromartie has stated that banging Welker around should mess up the Patriots offense. At this point in the season with both teams at 5-3, the Jets seem to have things going for them as Brady and the Patriots are reeling from back-to-back losses against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants.
Every time I watch these two teams in action it reminds me of that game in Foxborough last season in the divisional playoffs where the Jets prevailed and celebrated more than necessary. Tom Brady had said after the game that he wishes that he could have beaten them. But I think that the Jets will prevail over Bill Belichick’s Evil Empire. I know I am going back on the prediction that I made in my last post. This clash is one to look out for and my eyes will be glued to the TV come Sunday! This weekend of football is great for any NFL fan because of this Sunday Night Football showdown and then the Minnesota at Green Bay on Monday Night Football even though the Vikings really have no hope to make the playoffs as painful as it is to say.
